Everything.

I was at the local bookstore today, and spotted a huge book containing flight photos of New York. The price was very reasonable - though I would have been ready to pay pretty much for a book like that since I consider the New York skyline to be one of the most amazing views in the world - so I went over to the register to pay. It was the man who owes the shop who was behind the counter. His name is Daniel, he's had the bookstore for years, since I was little. He has an Irish wolfhound, the dog usually hangs around the shop but not today.
Daniel thought that I'd picked a great book and immediately started browsing through it, trying to find pictures of the Twin Towers. He told me that the book had photos of both before and after 9/11. He asked me if I'd ever been to New York. I told him I had, last summer. He said he had never been anywhere near New York, but he knew where it was.
We discussed the city and what it is that makes it so appealing. We even discussed migration laws and work permits.
He couldn't find the photos of the Twin Towers, but when I came home I looked through the book. There is even a picture of the actual plane crash into one of the buildings.

I guess Jane has rubbed off on me. I love it when you can strike up a conversation with a stranger, or someone you haven't really spoken to before even though it's someone you've seen around all your life.

Daniel asked me: "So what does New York have that Kristianstad doesn't?"

The answer is: Everything.

New York is amazing, but don't pick a favorite place in America until you've seen the California Bay Area. :) San Francisco's skyline is pretty breathtaking too.
